Album Covers
Throughout history, albums have been a staple in popular culture and remain a key visual extension of the artist’s musical sound or concept. This purpose provides great outlet to practice building and executing design concepts.
This cover was done for a friend of mine who lives and breathes music. In his mix, Teddy Swan incorporates a lot of house music, which is why I thought it was important to contrast a dark background with a glowing graphic to represent night life. The graphic I devised takes the shape of a swan while the neck and beak resemble an "S".
Rush has been a personal favorite of mine since my dad introduced me when I was little. This album's hit epic, "2112" has a story like no other. I decided to use the song's inspiration, "Anthem" by Ayn Rand, to guide my design concept.
The rear of this cover was another great opportunity to continue with type layout. Since I featured a single song off of this album, I found it important to feature its lyrics as well.
